Is Dig based on a book?

Common questions

Is Dig based on a book?

Yes. Peacock's Dig adapts Kate Myers's 2023 novel Excavations, about four women archaeologists caught up in an international conspiracy at a dig in Greece. Amy Poehler stars and co-created the show with Mike Schur; Hugh Laurie also stars.

Who wrote the book Dig is based on?

Dig is based on Excavations by Kate Myers, first published in 2023.

When does Dig come out?

Dig premieres on Monday, November 23, 2026 on Peacock.

Should I read the book before watching Dig?

If you like knowing the full story first, read Excavations before you watch. Adaptations often change or condense the plot, so the book is a different experience even if you've seen the show.
