Is VisionQuest based on a book?

Common questions

Is VisionQuest based on a book?

Yes, in the sense that it comes from comics. VisionQuest is a Marvel Cinematic Universe series built on Marvel Comics’ Vision, the android Avenger who first appeared in 1968, and it brings in other comics characters such as Jocasta and Paladin. It isn’t a straight adaptation of one comic: the title echoes a late-1980s West Coast Avengers storyline, but the story continues from WandaVision. The eight-episode series, created by Terry Matalas, premiered on Disney+ on October 13, 2026.

Who wrote the book VisionQuest is based on?

VisionQuest is based on Vision (Marvel Comics, first seen in The Avengers #57) by Roy Thomas, Stan Lee and John Buscema, first published in 1968.

When did VisionQuest come out?

VisionQuest premiered on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 on Disney+.

Should I read the book before watching VisionQuest?

If you like knowing the full story first, read Vision (Marvel Comics, first seen in The Avengers #57) before you watch. Adaptations often change or condense the plot, so the book is a different experience even if you've seen the show.
